January 2009 say goodbye with a bang.
Ooh we have had a fabulous end to January here in London.
Well I did. I started it off by a lovely boozy end to my time at work (again...left the place like 20 times already...) and swooned at anime hair boy along with the other ladies (darn why must i choose the ones that everyone else want?) Alas nothing came over my pouting and smiling like a buffoon, but we did travel alone (on the underground with 50 odd commuters) and had a slurry if not informative/serious convo (it was actually pointless...i cant remember the specs) about TV and Film. *swoonmeloverboy*
This is the countless replay of my lovelife...i dont have one...it only exists in my head until the real thing faces me and i run for primrose hill* I dunno - fear of rejection and all that, but at 22 i should really get over it...i mean i have nowt to lose right? WRONG. everything...I am Shames whore and she constantly abuses me with scenarios you would otherwise see in episodes of tv tween drama.

I had a drunked convo with a collegue during said night, and she told me the things i wanted to hear (but you have to understand she's not the kind of person to do such things!) and this instilled a little bit of glee and confidence when me and Anime boy headed home.
*i live in Southwark, but Primrose sounds marginally better no?
Anyway with my heart in my mouth but a happy outlook on my prospective love life - and better things to worry about *friend bday yeah yeah* I set out to enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Saturday was work day (snore) in which I transcribed an hour long raw footage based on unemployment for Dispatches on C4. Subject matter all in all interesting but the transcription of endless talking, is so tedious.Alas I had my friends Birthday to look forward to - MOVIE NIGHT yeah yeah. Said friend had selected two films in her new collection that she wanted to watch - with or without us - it just happened her already planned night fell upon her day of birth. So we headed over to her Waterloo abode and got in some pizza. and watched Adulthood. Yes. Adulthood. Its a homegrown raw drama based on life on the streets. West London streets that is. Hard. Anyway I liked the 1st installment after many watches, so I was happy to see the second venture. It was ok...wouldnt watch it again in a heartbeat but won't rule it out. So after gorging on stuffed crusts and meaty feasts and friends barbeque wings, we were driven home and said night till the next day where she had booked us tickets to the Jazz Cafe UK SOUL jam.
I worked on Sunday. But dressed accordingly to meet my friends after for the Jazz Cafe. It was so flipping cold i thought I would die of hypothermia ...(or summit) *Snap* to the lady at Camden station who had a fur coat and a matching hat on. She knew what she was doing...and looked hot doing it.
I on the other hand chose my old Yessica leather calf boots which are falling apart, a blue Mac and no gloves.
We shivered in the venue (which usually heats up due to its small capacity) even though it was packed and we ordered hotness grub. The music and dancing helped...and I flirted with the Host which was nice (longing sultry looks, and cute smiles from both ends!!!) but after spending 6 hours in there why on earth did no one fill us in with what was going on outside?
I'm talking Movie style. We had no clue how bad the weather was. Had it been a Cloverfield situation we would have been those people in the movie who are always in the cinema or underground or at a party and see the horrific events unravelling on the tv. See me and the girls were upstairs in the resturant area and had the privilage of staring down at the stage and eating in the comfort of our own space. So when we left we were faced with the surreal image of a white wonderland...a stark contrast to the usually dark and dirty Camden we know. So we braved the cold (begrudgingly) and set out on an arctic style expidition to the South East bank of london. So the friend whose birthday it was 23 (scary) behaved accordingly...but me and other friend (hehe we are two days apart in birth hehe) started a snowfight...how can you not?!? it never EVER snows and settles like this in London. So it was our duty to give in to the excitment the cold white stuff (ahem) brings.
I won. She fell when I hit her in the face with (omg the best snowball ever) and tried to drag me down with her pretty self...so I called truce. But it was so beautiful, and scenes of people playing a massive game of street snow fighting was immense. What wasn't was the hour and half wait we were told to wait for a taxi due to the closed roads and ungritted streets. After waiting with hundreds of party stragglers at a bus stop with no sound of a bus coming anywhere near us, I hailed a lone taxi and we three jumped in...ha i could tell that the stragglers were envious, i wonder what became of them? .
