A discovery

The sun filled days has brought with it new vigour to my aspirations - I have a week off work to ...find a new job and concentrate on my own stuff.
I am writing a childrens novel
I am in the modes of creating a novelty
I am Illustrating
I am scripting a three part drama
I am a creative mess.
Now after a recent visit to the library (overdue by 3 years...I had a fin to pay) I saw a wonderfully and enviously simple book that I knew as a child ala : Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. (post below)
I recently came across this beauty also - and I am so taken with him at the moment that I will have to post two of the couplets from his poem a day. Its Edward Gorey and his devilish The Gashlycrumb Tinies.
Now, as you can see from my list of creative endevours I am an Illustrator and writer. I count Quentin Blake, Roald Dahl, Tim Burton and recently alias Lemony Snicket and artist David Shrigley as huge influences.
Now I also have Edward Gorey and his 26 little children who befall tragedies one after the other. A-Z all named under each letter of the alphabet, this is a gem of a find. It excites me!
